B Corporation Lunch at our location

Here are some important takeaways that were highlighted during the workshop –

A company's governance plays a key role in supply chain choices. Responsible, ethical, and thoughtful choices with a long-term perspective require governance values and vision, which will be reflected in their management philosophy and the resulting choices. We must question company ownership and the transparency of their governance. While we do not believe that the creation of best practices necessarily follows a model " top-down ", corporate governance must create an ecosystem that is inviting and promotes social and environmental responsibility, which will inevitably have an impact at all levels of the supply chain.

The environmental footprint of the supply chain must be central to management and the decisions made in relation to it. Now more than ever, we are aware of the impact of the choices we make. It is therefore the responsibility of companies to question the provenance and traceability of the materials and products they work with. More importantly, companies must be a driving force for change, positively influencing supplier practices by imposing high environmental standards.

Along these same lines, it's important to make a conscious choice about the people we work with. As a business, it's important to offer a quality product or service at the right price, but it's even more important to educate and empower our customers. This requires transparency and strong communication of the company's goals and values. All of this with the goal of creating a virtuous circle where an educated customer base will buy in a more informed and responsible way, thereby improving its overall impact.

Finally, it's important to keep in mind the significant impact a more local supply chain has on the community. Proximity means easier communication and collaboration, better accessibility, and a reduction in multiple constraints, such as transportation and carbon emissions. It also has the effect of stimulating the development of local communities. In fact, businesses' involvement in their local communities can take place on several levels, ranging from participation in community initiatives and social reintegration to economic stimulation through collaboration with local businesses or organizations.

So let's keep in mind that no gesture is too small and that a rigorous analysis of the companies' supply chain can generate several positive changes in order to constantly improve their overall positive impact.
