Our story

Kotmo was founded in 2014 with the intention of transforming the promotional products industry. Kotmo develops, produces, and markets promotional products for companies concerned about their environmental and social impacts.

Since 2016, thanks to its B Corp certification, kotmo has positioned itself as a leader in Canada for responsible promotional products. The majority of our products are made in Quebec by local designers and manufacturers, and meet strict environmental requirements to have a positive impact now and for future generations.

Our objectives linked to the 17 UN goals

For kotmo, sustainable development encompasses four major areas: economic, social, ethical, and environmental. Our 2020-2022 Sustainable Development Plan encompasses our responsible procurement policy and supplier code of conduct, and incorporates five priorities linked to three UN goals to which we are committed to pursue our sustainable vision.

Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

We aim to play a key role in ensuring access to decent work for all, including people from minority backgrounds. We are committed to collaborating with SMEs and social reintegration companies to stimulate their growth and development.

Goal 10: Reduced inequalities

Our donations are voluntary; we want to be an integral part of the local community, and donating surplus production to non-profit organizations that need it is, in our opinion, a good way to contribute.

Goal 12: Sustainable consumption and production

We aim to play a significant role in reducing the environmental impact of production by working as locally as possible and using more environmentally friendly materials. We work to reduce impacts throughout the entire life cycle of our products. We aim to be an example of responsible consumption by offering products that are thoughtfully designed to have the least possible negative impact on the environment.

Priorities

  1. Reducing our GHG emissions
  2. Establish a system for managing residual materials from production and use
  3. Supporting sustainable mobility
  4. Tackling the problem of surplus production
  5. Maximize the use of eco-responsible raw materials and be a vector for the development of eco-responsible raw materials and eco-design.
