AT&L was looking for a gift to offer to its suppliers and clients at their office. This company wanted to showcase Quebec talent by collaborating on a custom design project with several local manufacturers.
"We're always looking for non-traditional products that are unique and off the beaten track of the promotional world. During my visit to Kotmo, I saw the posters on their wall. The idea of creating a poster through your illustrator partner came to mind. We discussed it with Cindy and launched the operation. We did this last year with pottery cups that resembled us as well as a bag made from reusable truck tarps. Then, keeping the illustration theme came naturally to decline other objects, notably the wine bag and coaster," explains Xavier Ayme, managing director at AT&L.
We selected three items with this company: an exclusive poster, a set of coasters, and a wine bag. The poster was created by illustrator Alice Picard, with whom we created the Composantes range of items. Her style is very distinct and colorful, and she draws inspiration from Matisse in the creation of her characters. We are very proud to introduce this artist to the corporate world and to promote the influence of local design.

Alice Picard was therefore free to create three designs of her choice. The only direction she was given was to draw inspiration from the St. Lawrence River and transportation.
“ Supporting creativity is important to us in order to create a unique work.”
emphasizes Xavier Ayme.

We commissioned her to create an illustration to print on a coaster, an illustration for 20 posters, and a final one to print on a wine bag. The posters were printed by Imprimerie Maxime and framed by Encadrex. She framed each of these unique pieces, and each one was hand-signed by the artist.

The wine bags are made of a washable, reusable, and recyclable material. Vintex is similar to tanned paper that takes its shape after use. It is therefore a very suitable material for a wine bottle bag, to replace any other non-recyclable material in reusable bags. Choosing sustainable materials for your promotional items is always a good start. Furthermore, these items are made in Quebec and allow many businesses to survive, especially during this very precarious period in our economy. We are very proud to work with a manufacturer that also promotes social reintegration, offering marginalized people the opportunity to have employment and a stable income.

The coasters are made from FSC-certified wood, a certification that ensures that the wood is produced according to procedures that guarantee sustainable forest management. The illustration was printed by one of our trusted suppliers, located in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
Thanks to this project, we were able to bring together more than 8 local businesses across Quebec. The objects only traveled within a 500 km radius, compared to countless journeys if they had been produced in Asia. It's with small decisions like this that we can slowly raise awareness of the cause among those around us and become a supporter of the movement!
